The focus of this volume is drawn thread embroidery, where the stitcher withdraws threads from the fabric and then works over the remaining threads with various ornamental patterns. Drawn threads, hemstitching, needle weaving, wrapped stitches, and knotting all work together to create the intricate lacy patterns of drawn thread work. These techniques can be combined with many other types of embroidery, to bring extra elements of transparency and laciness to the finished items.
