Disney continually tries to fix their older stories to appeal to a modern audience. While it failed largely with Belle by tacking on extra hobbies, Aladdin’s Jasmine gets a strong arc worthy of a princess, culminating in a big solo "Speechless" before she gives a rousing political speech.
